Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #81 - Flora and/or Fauna

The Ruby's Rainbow Challenge is to create a project with the Flora and/or Fauna theme.

For my card, I used the Stampin' Up set called Fabulous florets.  I used distress markers to color directly onto the image before stamping it.  I then die cut the image using a Spellbinders die and used dimensionals to adhere it to an embossed layer.

We hope you'll play along with the Flora and/or Fauna challenge.  You can find this fun challenge HERE.

MFP Simple Salutations Challenge - Father's Day

This week's Simple Salutations Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co., is to create a Father's Day card.
For my card, I used the Plywood stamp set and the Be Virtuous samp set.  This is a card base only card, no layers.  I masked off a strip on the left side of the card base and then stamped the plywood stamp, I drew lines on each side of the image after masks were removed.  I then stamped the sentiment from the plywood set and the leaves from the Be Virtuous set.

We hope you'll play along with the Father's Day card challenge this week.  If you do, you'll be entered to win a stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

Gears to You!  I used the cracked glass technique with this stamp set.  The card size is 3 3/4 x 4 1/4 with the cracked glass panel being an ATC size (also used an image from the MFP ATC stamp set).  I stamped the card background using images from the Gears to You set before layering the cracked glass panel and sentiment onto the card base.  Embellished the card using a Tim Holtz pen nib.

For my Gear Up card I sponged the image panel with distress ink and then used pearl glimmer mist on the stamp as ink and then stamped the misted stamp onto the distress inked panel.  The mist pulled the image off of the ink and left the stamped image to give a unique pearl look to the card!  Twine and a Tim Holtz gear embellish the card.

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All six winners will be announced on
June 14, 2014 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!)
The deadline for
commenting is 10 PM EST on Friday, June 13, 2014.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Challenge - Word Bubbles!

This week the Cuttin' and Stampin' Design Team is using the Jillibean Soup Word Bubbles stamp set and the Basic Grey Capture designer paper.  You can find the stamp set and paper at the Cuttin' and Stampin' online store.

For my card I used Pan Pastels chalks to color the Basic Grey background designer paper; the Tim Holtz Umbrella Man die was cut out using Basic Grey DP; I paper pieced the umbrella and portion of the die using designer paper from the Basic Gray DP pack.  The word bubbles were stamped using Memento Black ink.

We hope you'll play along with the challenge this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - A Bunch of Spotted Animals!

There's a new challenge beginning at Twisted Tuesday Challenges!  We are looking for at least two animals and the TWIST is to include spots or polka dots on your creation!

For my card I used a Penny Black stamp called Team Effort.  I stamped the image onto watercolor paper and used watercolor pencils and a narrow paint brush tip to watercolor the image.  The background papers and cardstock are from Stampin' Up, the dotted ribbon is American Crafts and the dotted flower is from Paper Studio.

We hope you'll play along with our Twisted Tuesday Challenge!  You can find the challenge HERE.

MFP Sketch With a Twist Challenge #102 - Card for a Child

This week's SWAT Challenge is to use the sketch and the twist is to create a card for a child.

Here's the sketch:

For my card, I used the Dino News stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  I created a top flap card and the stamped image is held in place by a half slit created using a slit punch.  The papers I used are from DCWV paper stack.  When opened, a gift card or folded money could be tucked in a small pocket under the flap.

We hope you'll play along with our SWAT challenge this week.  If you do, you will be entered to win a stamp from Mark's Finest Papers.

Crafting When We Can Challenge #71 - Use Your Leftovers and Scraps!

The Crafting When We Can Challenge #71 is to use your leftovers and scraps!

For my card, I used leftovers and scraps from my craft table!  Even the Sassy Studio Designs Disney Fan image is leftover from another project so I die cut it to add to a previously die cut card.  The pattern paper is leftover from a Disney project; the flower embellishment is from my stash.

The sponsor for CWWC Challenge #71 is Sassy Studio Designs.
