Gift Box and Matching Gift card

Created using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.  The box holds a beaded letter opener that I gave away as a secret sister gift.  The denim is recycled from an old pair of blue jeans!

Another Twisted Tuesday Card for Challenge 2TC44

I haven't done much paper piercing, but when the Twisted Tuesday challenge to do just that was introduced, I find I'm really enjoying the look!  And, I have some Spellbinder's  piercing templates that needed to be used!  The Twisted Tuesday challenge can be found here to create a project that includes paper piercing and the twist is to also use a button or brad:  http://twistedtuesdaychallenges.blogspot.ca/

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - 2TC44

This is my first time to play in the Twisted Tuesday challenges.  The challenge is to create a card that includes a button or a brad and the twist is to add some paper piercing on the card.   It's been a while since I've done any piercing so this was a fun technique to re-aquaint myself to!

Here's the challenge site:  http://twistedtuesdaychallenges.blogspot.ca/

I used a Stampin Up floral die, a PTI lovely layers die behind the floral die cuts, the SU Adorning Accents textured impression folder and paper piercing pack.  The notch on the diamond strip was cutout using the corner of my square punch.

Folding Screen

I saw a screen card on Pinterest, but no tutorial, so I created from "scratch!"  I plan to post a picture tutorial this weekend.  However, I have had a couple requests for how-to, so hopefully I can explain with no pictures at this point!  I used an 11 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock, folded it in half then in half again to create the four panels.  Or, you can score the cardstock from left to right at 2 3/4, 5 1/2, and 8 1/4.  To create the screen, make sure the center fold is the mountain and the other two folds are valleys.  After creating the fold lines, I used a border punch to create the top of the screen.  I then cut the botton of the screen to make it 6 11/16 inches long, then used the SU decorative label punch, half-way in the punch to punchout and create the screen "legs."   Then, decorate and embellish as desired!
