Eclectic Ellapu Pink Team March Challenge - Anything Goes!

It's anything goes at Eclectic Ellapu Pink Team Challenge this month.

I chose to create a scrap page to showcase the beautiful sunset I photographed at Holmes Beach in Florida during my recent vacation.  I used some fish netting and one of the shells I found on the beach to embellish my page.

We hope you'll take the Pink Team challenge of anything goes and enter your project at Eclectic Ellapu.  You can find the challenge HERE.

MFP Stamp Shop Blog Challenge - Create a Scene!

This week's MFP Stamp Shop Blog challenge is to create a scene and use a fence on your card.

For my card, I used the MP Stamp Shop Spring Things stamp set.  For the scene I first created a side-step card for my card base.  The fence and grass were punched using Martha Stewart Border Punches.  The sentiment was stamped and then punched out using a Fiskars Cloud punch.  The bunny and butterfly  were fussy cut and added to the card.

Please share your card with a scene and fence with us!  You can find the challenge HERE.

MFP Stamp Shop Oriental Sketch Challenge 67

Here is this week's Oriental Sketch for the MFP SpeedyTV Challenge:

For my card, I used the MFP Stamp Shop Works of Art stamp set.  I decided to use two coloring techniques using the sketch.

The background was created using the Bokeh technique.  I used the smooth side of Ranger watercolor paper, spritzed it with water to get it good and wet, then I wet my watercolor brush and loaded it using watercolor paint and touching the wet panel with the paint and watched as it spread; did this with 3 different colors, red, green, and yellow.  I used my heat gun to dry the wet watercolored panel.  The colors blended together beautifully for a soft background.  Then, I created a circle mask using transparency film and circle punches.   Laid the mask over the colored panel and used white craft ink to randomly sponge the circles onto the panel, making the larger circles lighter and the smaller circles darker.  I also used my heat gun to speed up the ink drying process.

I used white craft ink to stamp the dogwood branch onto black cardstock.  I then dabbed pearlescent chalks over the white stamped image to make the image colors pop on the black cardstock!

We hope you'll use the sketch and share your Oriental cards with us at the MFP SpeedyTV Oriental Sketch Challenge this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge 4 Reminder

The One Layer Christmas Card Challenge (OLCCC) is always anything Christmas goes with an optional twist.  The twist for challenge 4 is Bells.

For my card I used the inlaid die technique!  What a FUN technique and gives a smooth card front.  I used the Sizzix Card w/Jingle Cut Out die and then cut out the jingle again using red cardstock and inlaid it into the cutout on the cardbase.  The bells image is from the Stampin' Up Bells and Boughs stamp set.

Get a head start on your 2015 Christmas cards and join in the OLCCC.  We would love to see your gorgeous CAS Christmas cards!

MFP Stamp Shop Blog Challenge - Circles

We are creating a circle background for the MFP Stamp Shop Blog Challenge this week.

For my card, I used a circle stencil and distress inks to sponge the multi-colors.  I then inked the end of a pencil eraser to create some small dots as fill-in.  The image and sentiment are from the Tree Frogs stamp set.  I fussy cut the frog from a scrap of designer paper and popped it up next to the sentiment.

We hope you'll create a circle background to share with us at the MFP Blog Challenge.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge - Something Green

DT member Jennifer challenged us to use something green on our creations over at Ruby's Rainbow Challenge!

For my card, I used a yellow card base, then added a green panel that I embossed using a dotted embossing folder.  Added a black panel then a white panel then some October Afternoon DSP.  The image is called Lucky Ducks from Mark's Finest Papers Stamp Shop.  A green twine multi-loop bow with an adhesive pearl embellishes my card.

We hope you'll use something green on your project and share it with us over at Ruby's Rainbow Challenge.
