OLCCC #16 - Optional Twist: Sleigh

Christmas is just around the corner; really it is!  The One Layer Christmas Card Challenge is here to help you get your holiday cards ready!  All you need to do is create a one layer Christmas card, using the sleigh twist is optional but your card must be Christmas and one layer.

For my card, I used the sleigh from the Homemade Holiday stampin up set, the sentiment is from an MFP Stamp Shop stamp set and the trees are from a Hero Arts stamp .  I masked the sides of a my card base and created a circle mask for the "moon" then sponged 3 different colors of blue distress inks; I then removed the circle mask and stamped the sleigh using black Hero Arts ink.  The tree scene was stamped leaving the side masks in place.  Masks removed and the sentiment was stamped using Hero Arts black ink.

We hope you'll share your one layer Christmas cards with us over at the OLCCC.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow... The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge

Sandi Lee chose a rainbow challenge for The Sisterhood of Crafters!  Your project should include a rainbow!

For my rainbow card, I used watercolor paper, stamped the image using black pigment ink and embossed it using black embossing powder.  I then spritzed the panel with water and used Zig Clean Color markers to do a multi-color wash to create the rainbow; let it dry and then did a color wash in shades of green.  When dry, I did a splatter of gold paint.  To finish my card, I added some sequins, a multi-loop twine bow and sponged the edges of the panel using rust colored ink.  The tree image is from the Stampendous Nature stamp set and the sentiment is from MFP Stamp Shop Tree Scene stamp set.

We hope you'll share your rainbow projects with us at The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge.  You can find the challenge HERE.

OLCCC Reminder - Optional Twist is Candy Cane

There is still time to enter your one layer Christmas card in the OLCCC #15 anything goes as long as it is Christmas one layer.  The optional twist is candy cane!

Candy Cane stamps are in short supply at my house but I did rummage around and found these stamps in an old Stampin' Up stamp set that I purchased several years ago and didn't keep the name of the set on the plastic holder case.  The sentiment is from a MFP Stamp Shop stamp set.  I created a background using an acrylic block scribbled with waterbased markers and then spritzed with water before "stamping" it onto the Crafters Companion Ultra White Cardstock.

You can find the OLCCC#15 details and inlinkz to enter your one layer Christmas card HERE.

Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge - Use Twine

This week's challenge at MFP Speedy Fox & Friends is to use twine.

For my card, I first inked an embossing folder using crumb cake ink and embossed the inked folder onto white cardstock.  I then used an orange ink to gently rub over the white raised embossed  portion to give it color.  I mounted the embossed panel onto black cardstock and wrapped black twine along the right edge.  I then adhered the panel to crumb cake card base.  The image is from MFP Stamp Shop Flaps My Wattles stamp set and die cut using spellbinders circle die.  I used a scrunched up and inked piece of wax paper to daub around the image to give some texture.  The scallop circle was die cut from vellum cardstock and then inked using crumb cake ink to give it color.  Mounted the stamped image onto the vellum and then over the twine using dimensionals.

We look forward to seeing your cards with some twine.  You can share your cards HERE.
