Cute Cat for the Cheapo Dies Inspiration Blog

I'm very excited to be part of the Cheapo Dies Design Team and to share my first project with you!

For my card, I used the Cheapo Dies Exclusive Cat die.  Love the size of this sweet cat image.  I first die cut using a piece of scrap designer paper then die cut again using 3 colors of cardstock to have to have the negative pieces to inlay into the die cut image.

Here's a close up of the die cut using the negative pieces:

You can find this adorable die (and many more!) in the Cheapo Dies online store:

Dies R Us Inspiration

I'm sharing a black and white, with a splash of red card on the DRU Inspiration Blog today.

I first die cut all the elements and used a stylus to shape the die cut flowers

Then, layered the red frame onto the diamond panel before adhering to the cardbase

Once on the cardbase I arranged one of the layered blooms and the die cut word to complete the card

Here's a close up of the stitched bloom

Thinking Spring on the DRU Inspiration Blog

I'm sharing a monochromatic blues card on the DRU Inspiration Blog today.  Here in the USA midwest we have had lots of cold, snowy winter days.  These cold days make me think ahead to warmer, Spring weather!

To create my card I used these distress oxide inks and wateolor paper to create the background panel for my card:

I smooshed the inks onto my craft mat and then spritzed with water

Then I smooshed the watercolor paper panel onto the spritzed inks to create the background and used a heat tool to speed up the drying process

Next, I used a blending tool using the same colors of oxide inks to create a blended ink panel to use for the dies

Placed each die onto the blended ink panel and die cut them to arrange on the watercolor panel to create the card (shown above)

Here's a close up of the die cuts on the card

Here are the dies used found in the DRU online store:

Double D Challenge - Sequins

I have a lot of sequins in my stash of stuff!  When the Double D Challenge to use sequins was posted an idea popped into my head and this is the result!

For my card, I first used some ruffled ribbon to create the flower and filled the center with sequins.  I decided to use more sequins on my card by cutting a strips of cardstock, applying adhesive and pouring sequins directly from the bag onto the cardstock strip.  Then, added a die cut border to the bottom of the sequined strip before adhering to the cardbase.  (the border was die cut from vellum using the Altenew Lace Die).  The sentiment is from the Penny Black Happy Snippets stamp set.

I'm entering my card in the Double D Sequin Challenge found HERE.

HMFMC #259 - Anything Goes with Optional Sweets or Hearts!

The House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #259 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Sweets or Hearts!  I chose to use the Hearts theme for my Guest Designer Card.

I used the Tails of True Love stamp and colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush watecolor pens and an aqua brush.  The "kiss me" candy heart is a brad from my stash.  I created a pocket for the front of the card using a tissue paper roll wrapped with designer paper, ruffled ribbon, and stuffed the roll opening with a pick of beaded tulle.  The tube could be used to hold a romantic note or a gift card for the recipient!

We hope you'll share your House Mouse, Happy Hoppers, or Gruffies cards and/or projects with us at the HMFMC #259 found HERE.
