Challenge:   Football or Winter Sports

August 27 - September 2nd, 2013

 
My grandson LOVES all sports, so creating a football card for his birthday was easy!  I used the  Bugaboo digi stamp Football Boy and the sentiment is from the SU set Circle of Friendship.  Cardstock and patterned paper from my stash.  Image printed on Crafter's Companion white cardstock and colored using Copic markers.  A football charm was used to embellish the star.

Simple Salutations Challenge #60 Girl Things

It's Wednesday and time for another Simple Salutations Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps.  This week's challenge is to create a CAS card showcasing some girl things, like purse, shoes, dresses, etc.  The challenge can be found here.   We hope you will play along.

I used the purse and sentiment from the MFP You've Got Style stamp set.  Image was colored using copic markers; also used a large circle punch and SU border punch, and a lifestyle embossing folder for the background.

Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps Simple Salutations Wild Animals Challenge

It's Wednesday and time for another Simple Salutations challenge at Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps, a Heinrich Co.  The challenge is "lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!"  Create card to show us some wild animals! 

I used the MFP stamp set Be Wild & Free, stamped using Black Soot Distress Ink.  The cardstock, designer paper, and brads are from the MFP African Safari paper pack.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - Pink As All Outdoors

It's Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  The challenge is to use the color pink, the twist is to create a project showing some outdoor things.  the challenge can be found here.  We hope you will play along with our Pink As All Outdoors challenge.

I found this adorable image at DigiStampBoutique and fell in love with it!  Reminds me of my three daughters who loved to play with the hula hoop!  The gingham background is a PTI stamp.  The flowers and bling are Recollections from Michaels.  Image was colored using a combination of Prisma Color Pencils and gamsol, and Copic markers.

MFP September Swap Autumn Friendships

Autumn is my favorite season; I love the rustic colors it brings and tried to capture some of those colors in my Autumn Friendships card.  This is the card I created for the MFP September 2013 swap.

Cardstock and patterned paper from my stash; image was stamped onto watercolor paper.  Embellished with a doily, button, linen thread, burlap, and a strip of cardstock embossed with an embossing folder.  The image, Autumn Friendships from Mark's Finest Papers & Stamps, was colored with Copic markers; I used stormy sky distress ink for the image background.  The image panel edges were distressed and highlighted using Viva 3-D walnut brown metallic stamp paint.

Lemon & Lime Crafting When We Can Challenge #50

Green and yellow cardstock from my stash; image is Peace from Dilly Bean Digitals.  Image is colored using Copic markers.  Embellished with  Lime Green Peace brad and green dotted ribbon.  Background embossing folder is Darice Large Petal.

Life is Art

A CAS card using inktense pencils and a waterbrush to create the colorful background on watercolor paper.  I created the floral embellishment using a circle die and felt; the leaf is cut from a length of MayArts leaf ribbon.  The stamp is Life is Art by Stampendous, stamped using Distress Black Soot ink.

This is one of the holders and 4 stick pins I created for a swap on SCS.  The older is cut from a sizzix die; the flower is recollections, leaves are may arts, Martha Stewart doily, ladybug button.  Various beads used to create the pins.

A Simple Christmas in August at Twisted Tuesday Challenges!

It's Christmas in August at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.  The challenge is to make a Christmas creation; the twist is the simpler, the better!  Let's do CAS!

My CAS Christmas card is stamped using Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar ink on white cardstock layered onto a panel of Baked Brown Sugar cardstock.  A Martha Stewart border punch was used to create the border.  Gems were centered onto each snowflake.  The stamp set used is Stampin' Up Snow Swirled.

Altered Eclectics Challenge...Anything Goes

I started with a paint brush and large Craft Clothes pin, painted them with Glidden Interior Paint, then painted over them using One Step Crackle Paint.  When dry, I sponged Distress Walnut Ink into the crackle.  Decorated the Paint Brush and then adhered it to the painted clothes pin.
