MFP Sketch With a Twist Challenge #103 - Travel

This week's SWAT challenge is to use the following sketch with a travel theme!

For my card I used the Mark's Finest Papers Space Fun stamp set!  The patterned paper is from a DCWV paper pack.  I used banner dies to cut out the stamped sentiments and center banner with an image.  I fussy cut the space ship and rocket.

We hope you'll play along with our challenge this week; if you do, you'll be entered into a random drawing for a free stamp from Mark's Finest Papers.

You can find the challenge HERE.

Daydream Designs - Beachscapes - I Need Some Beach Therapy!

I love the beach!  It helps that I live in a resort town with an amusement park/beach that's full of summer fun, relaxation, and lots of sunny therapy!

I also LOVE this digi collection from Daydream Designs called Beachscapes.  The chair and umbrella are from the Beachscapes Outline set.  The chair reminds me of the lawn chairs I enjoyed relaxing in when visiting my grandparents many years ago!

After printing the image onto Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir 100 lb ultra smooth cardstock, I cut the panel so it would layer onto a 4 1/2 x 7 cardbase.  I sponged the background using distress inks and then coloring the images with Copic markers.  I used a small dot stamp inked with versamark ink and stamped it randomly before sprinkling with Frantage embossing powder.  I embellished the bottom of my card using a small wooden picket fence and added a small starfish.  The clouds were punched using a fiskars punch; the sentiment is printed on one of the clouds...I Need Some Beach Therapy!

You'll find the Beachscapes digital stamp collection at Daydream Designs online store.

Sparkles Challenge #57 - At the Beach / Summer Fun

The Sparkles Challenge this month is Summer Fun and/or At the Beach!

For my card, I used an acrylic block to create the background for my stamped layer.  I used distress inks direct to the block then spritzed it with water and "stamped" it onto watercolor paper.  Once it dried, I used DeNami sea shells and DeNami seagulls stamps; the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers Island Life stamp set.   I used Stampendous Frantage Shabby White Embossing Enamel to give the look of specks of sand and then added some small adhesive pearls.  I used 3 small shells to embellish the right lower corner, some twine and a wooden flourish.  I mounted the stamped panel onto a piece of corrugated cardstock; the overall card size is 5 x 7.

We hope you'll share your Summer Fun and/or Beach creations with us!  You can find the challenge HERE.

If you play along you could win  a gift voucher from the challenge sponsor, Dawn till Dusk!

I created a treat or gift bag using the Please Snow stamp set.  I stamped the image directly onto the bag and colored it using Copic markers and a white watercolor pencil.  I cut the sentiment words individually after stamping it onto a scrap of white cardstock so I could fit the words onto the small bag.  This would make a fun treat bag to give to students, friends, family as a seasonal gift or stocking stuffer!

I also used the same stamped bag to create a luminary!  I inserted a small flameless candle inside the bag to create the illumination.

Great Flowers is a beautiful floral set!  I stamped the image onto watercolor paper and colored it using watercolor crayons and small paintbrush.  I then highlighted some of the petals using a white gel pen.  I used spellbinder dies for the image, leafy flourish, and doily layer.  A blue adhesive pearl and green twine multi-loop bow used as embellishment.

For the beautiful Flower Blocks stamp set I created a sunburst side panel using black, white and gray patterned paper strips; the image was stamped using versamark ink and embossed using detail black embossing powder.

For my Pretty Pears card I used Spellbinders Floral Ovals dies to create a shaped card.  I stamped the pear image using Memento New Sprout ink and used Memento Black to stamp the sentiment.  The ribbon and crocheted flower are from my stash.
