Sparkles Challenge - Christmas in July

It's Christmas in July over at the Sparkles Challenge Blog!

For my card I used the Tis The Season stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

I really like using dies to create shaped cards such as this card using the Spellbinders Circle Scallops and Circle dies.  I used traditional Christmas colors of red and green.  The card could also be used as a gift tag.

This month's Sparkles Challenge sponsor is

you could win 2 Dies or 1 Die & 1 Stamp set.

MFP Sketch With a Twist Challenge #107 - Create a Christmas/Holiday (or winter) Card

This week's SWAT Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co., is to create a Holiday themed card using the following sketch:

For my card I used the newly released this week Snowflakes stamp set.  I stamped the snowflakes in different shades of blue; the background designer paper is from my stash.  I embossed the 3 panel strips using a snowflake embossing folder.  I have recently become obsessed with creating multi-loop bows such as the one I used to embellish my snowflake card!

We hope you'll play along with our Holiday challenge this week.  If you do you'll be entered to win a stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Dots, Dots, Dots - the Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge

This is week 2 of my stint as Guest Designer for the CAS Challenges on The Outlawz Challenge site.  I am enjoying participating with the DT very much!

This week's CAS challenge for the Outlawz CAS Sunday challenge is to create a card using dots, dots, and dots, and keep your card CAS (clean and simple!)

for my card I used the Hero Arts Brush Strokes stamp set and created a card base only card....no other layers.  I used PTI inks and the sentiment stamped using black memento ink.  I really enjoy creating CAS cards, especially using card base only.

We hope you'll join in the CAS fun over at The Outlawz Challenge site.

Simple Salutations Challenge 105 - New Home

This week's Simple Salutations challenge is to create a card using the theme New Home.

I used sentiments from the Mark's Finest Paper's Tweet Blessings stamp set.  The little birdhouses were created using a tag punch and corner punch for the roof!  Also used a Martha Stewart border punch and Grass border punch and butterfly punch.  The cloud  is a Fiskars punch.  Texture was added to the houses using an embossing folder.

We hope you'll play along with this week's Simple Salutations Challenge; if you do you'll be entered to win a stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge - Summer Treats!

The bi-weekly challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is to create a Summer Treats project!

YUM!  A summer treat for me would be a scrumptious chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing and sprinkles!

I created an easel card using the Hero Arts Cupcakes stamp set.  The cupcake has been "iced" using diamond stickles!  Cardstock and patterned paper from my stash.  The flourish swirl was cut from a MFT die; the rose is from Michael's Recollections, the button is Stampin' Up.  The sentiment was die cut from a banner die.  The doily is Wilton and the lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

We hope you'll play along with Ruby's Rainbow Challenge and share you summer treats with us!  You can find the challenge HERE.

Twisted Tuesday Challenge - Pearls Are So Heavy!

The Twisted Tuesday Challenge is to include pearls on your creation; the TWIST is your creation needs to have lots of layers!

When it comes to creating, I sometimes get "tunnel vision!"  I get something in my mind and am determined to use it!  Such is the case with the Tattered Lace Carriage die!  I've had this die for a few months and not used it, so no matter what I was determined to use it for this challenge!  I had a vision of a white on white layered card in my head, but as you can see, my card is not white on white!  After laying it out, I decided it needed some color so I went with black!  I can say, I do have several layers on my card and some pearls!  I just kept sticking embellishments on my card, like the feather and crystal flower in the upper right corner, then the butterfly in lower right corner, oh and don't forget to include some lace that was laying on my craft table.  So, there it is...my pearly layered card with the Tattered Lace carriage!

We do hope that you'll play along with our pearls and layers challenge at Twisted Tuesday Challenges.
