MFP Stamp Shop Blog Challenge - Staggered Layers

Spring is almost here and the coneflowers will be popping up soon!
This week's challenge at MFP Stamp Shop blog is to create a card with staggered layers.

For my card, I used the MFP Stamp Shop Coneflowers stamp set.  The flowers were colored using Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens and fussy cut using the Brother Scan n Cut machine.  Designer papers from my stash.

We hope you'll join us over at MFP Stamp Shop Blog challenge this week and use lots of layers and to stagger some of those layers!

You can find the MFP challenge HERE.

I'm entering my card in the Mod Squad Challenge - Flowers!

Oriental Sketch Challenge 69

This week's MFP SpeedyTV Oriental Sketch Challenge #69 uses this sketch:

For my card, I used the MFP Stamp Shop Wealthy Fish stamp set and Works of Art stamp set.

I used waterbased markers direct to the images and then stamped onto the cardstock.  This technique gives a different look when done with line art images, such as those I used.  The bamboo stamp was inked this way also and stamped several times to create the background as well as the Asian word characters stamp from Works of Art stamped over the bamboo.

We hope you'll use the sketch to share your Oriental card with us this week.  If you do not have any Oriental style stamps, please feel free to use the sketch with any floral or animal stamp and enter your card HERE.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Color Inspiration Challenge

I just recently found The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge site.  For the current challenge we are to use the following colors as inspiration for our project:

Isn't this color palette gorgeous?!

For my card, I sponged distress inks onto the smooth side of Ranger Watercolor paper.  I'm really enjoying the Bokeh technique so went with sponging white circles over the inked background, letting the white craft ink dry and then stamped the Stampabilities Waving Wheat image with green ink in the corner.  I embellished using Martha Stewart orange daisies from my stash and popping some enamel dots into the center of each flower.  MayArts fabric leaves embellish under the flowers.  Martha Stewart Butterfly punches were used to also embellish the card front.  I'm pretty sure I covered each color from the inspiration picture!

This fun challenge can be found HERE.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Biweekly Challenge 9 - Gold

The Cuttin' and Stampin' design team was inspired by the new
Simple Stories I Am collection and Lawn Fawn
Lucky Stars stamp set.

These products and so much more are available at

For my project, I created a file folder card!  Kind of appropriate for the typewriter embellishment!  I stamped the sentiment on the tab and layered two more embellishments over the typewriter and stamped the stars to go along with the sentiment.  The arrow point is gold and the butterfly in the left corner is also gold.

Now it's your turn.
You can find the challenge HERE.
When you play along you'll be entered to win a pkg. of goodies from the Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store.

Gruffies and Guests Challenge - Ribbon and Flowers

Ribbon and Flowers is the challenge over at Gruffies and Guests this month.  The Gruffies and Guests challenges are always anything goes as long as you use a House Mouse, Gruffies, or Happy Hoppers image on your project.  If you include this month's challenge "ribbon and flowers" you are entered twice in the prize selection.

The prze sponsor this month is
7 Digi's from Bugaboo Stamps
http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

For my card, I printed and cut out a House Mouse image from the House Mouse Project CD Rom.  The sentiment is from the MFP Stamp Shop Glad Glads stamp set, and the gingham was stamped using a PTI background stamp.  The dotted ribbon is from my stash and the gingham ribbon is Offray.  The background was created using a swiss dots embossing folder.

We hope you'll share your House Mouse, Gruffies, or Happy Hoppers card or project with us.  You can find the challenge HERE.

I'm also entering my card in the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #189 It's Spring!  The HMFMC #189 Challenge can be found HERE.
