MFP Speedy Fox & Friends Monochromatic Challenge

This week's challenge at MFP Speedy Fox & Friends is to create a monochromatic card using the tutorial that is linked on the MFP Stamp Shop Blog.

For my monochromatic colored card I used MFP Stamp Shop Cracked Hello stamp set.  The cracked background was stamped using SU Bashful Blue ink, the sentiment was stamped using Night of Navy ink, and the Butterfly was stamped using Ballet Blue ink.  To give the butterfly depth, I first stamped the image direct to the background panel then I stamped it 2 more times onto scrap white cardstock and fussy cut it out and layered those cuts onto the stamped butterfly; butterfly embellished using pearl gems.

We hope you'll try the tutorial and share your monochromatic cards with us at MFP Speedy Fox & Friends.  You can find the tutorial and challenge HERE.

This is a flat sucker wrap!  I used a 3x6 piece of cardstock and folded it in half.  Keeping the fold at the bottom use a handheld small circle punch to create a hole for the sucker stick to go through.  Insert sucker, bring the flaps up around the sucker and close with adhesive.  I decorated the front of the wrap using an image from the MFP Space Fun stamp set.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - What Does Fall Mean to You?

I LOVE the colors that come with the Fall/Autumn season.  I created a CAS card with falling leaves.  The golden fall color was added to the side by first misting an acrylic block, then coloring on the block using aqua markers, misting the block again and "stamping " it onto the cardstock.  I did a splatter using gold paint.  The stamp set is from Heartfelt Creations.

The Sisterhood of Crafters Fall challenge theme was chosen by Darlene.  We hope you'll share your fall projects with us.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #116 - Bird's of a Feather!

Bird's of a Feather is the theme for Challenge #116 at Ruby's Rainbow Challenge.

I created a CAS card using the Hero Arts Newsprint Bird and the friendship sentiment is an oldie but goodie Hampton Art stamp from Michael's dollar spot.  I love the crisp look of black and white together.

We hope you'll share your bird(s) and/or feather(s) cards with us at Ruby's Rainbow.  You can find the challenge HERE.

For my mummy card, I sometimes look at images and see other things!  I used the double coffee rings from the MFP Stamp Shop Java Time stamp set and I saw a pair of eyes and what better place to have a pair of eyes peek out is on a mummy card!  I wrapped a piece of white cardstock using something from the drugstore....wet-pruf adhesive tape by Curity!  Google Eyes enhance the rings and a large die cut bow to embellish!  The sentiment is from the MFP Stamp Shop Witchie stamp set.

OLCCC - Optional Twist is Stocking!

The One Layer Christmas Card Challenge is always anything Christmas goes as long as it is one layer.  For challenge #20 the optional twist is "stocking."

For my card, I've "rediscovered" Pearl Ex!  I masked the sides of my white card base using post it tape and then sponged distress ink onto the area not masked.  Once it was inked I brushed on gold Pearl Ex and then used a dryer sheet to rub over the area to remove the excess.  I removed the tape, stamped the stocking image and the sentiment.  Then, I used my new We R Memory Keepers Next Level Quilted Embossing Folder to emboss the card front.  Wow!  What a deeply etched embossing!  (Can't wait to get more of these folders!)

We hope you'll share your one layer Christmas cards with us!  You can find the OLCC Challenge HERE.

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge - Silver

The OLCCC is always anything Christmas goes as long as it is a one layer card.  There is an optional twist you can use and for the new challenge the twist is to use silver on your one layer Christmas card.

Guess who does not have silver embossing powder in her stash?!  That's right...me!  So, I used Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder...it sure looks silver in the container.  Once I heat embossed it looks more like tarnished silver.  To add the look of silver to my card I used Ranger Brushed Pewter Spray Stain to create some silver splatter and to brush on the edges of the card.  The image is Stampabilities Ornament.

We hope you'll share your one layer Christmas cards with us at the OLCCC.  You can find the challenge HERE.
