Oriental Sketch Challenge #13

I've recently "discovered" feathers so just had to embellish my Oriental card using a set of feathers I found at Hobby Lobby.  My card was created for the Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co., Oriental Sketch Challenge.  Here's the challenge sketch:

I used an oriental sentiment from the Lucky You stamp set for my card.  Also, used a Wilton doily and an oriental fan die cut.  The smaller doily is from a Martha Stewart doily pack.

We hope you'll play along with the Oriental Sketch Challenge this week.  You can find the challenge HERE.

Crafting When We Can Challenge

The Crafting When We Can challenge is to use Neapolitan colors, White, Red, and Brown.  The DT was give a choice of digi stamps from the sponsor, The Stamp Chef, to chose from and I chose to use Crafty Bunch.  I used Spellbinders die to cut the image out and then hand cut the sentiment for the center of the image and popped it up with dimensionals.  The red and brown splatters are from a PaperSmooches stamp set.  Butterflies are punched from Martha Stewart punches; adhesive pearls embellish the butterfly and four corners of the card.  Once I had the card put together I gave it a generous spray of Luminarte Radiant Rain shimmer mist.

We hope you'll play along with the Neapolitan colors challenge to use white, red, and brown.  You can find the challenge HERE.

This week's Simple Salutations CAS Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers, A Heinrich Co., is to stamp a background.

I used 140 lb Fabriano Cold Press Watercolor Paper for my background.  I first wet the watercolor paper, then used a water brush to brush on Koi Noir Watercolor paints to the wet paper.  I used a heat gun to dry the wet paper then stamped an image and sentiment from the MFP Hugs Blooms stamp set using Memento Black ink.  I stamped the flower image again onto watercolor paper, used Copic markers to color it and then cut it out, and also cut between some of the petals to shape the flower and put a big brad in the center, then layered it onto the stamped background.

Oriental Sketch Challenge #9

Here is this week's Oriental Sketch Challenge #9 on MFPSpeedyTV.

I used the image and sentiment from the Lucky You stamp set.  I wasn't familiar with the history of the Oriental Dragon so did a little research to find that the dragon is holding a pearl and the pearl represents wealth, good luck, and prosperity.

Background paper is from a Colorbok Oriental Paper Pad.  I used Viva 3D stamp paint on the edges of the image and sentiment panels.  Image was colored with Copic Markers.  Red gems adorn the corner of the card.

12 Days of Christmas Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps

I had the privilege of the tutorial and creating the project for day 12 of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps!

I created a "TPR" Mini Album!  You are probably asking what "TPR" stands for...Tissue Paper Roll (tissue sounding better than toilet, but that's what it is...created from empty toilet paper rolls/tubes!)

I used designer paper from my stash and used the Joyous Seasons stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps.

Here's an inside view:

The mini album would make a wonderful stocking stuffer by including a few special pictures along with some pictures and/or journaling on the tags that are inserted inside each tube.

We hope you'll play along with all of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenges for a chance to win some fabulous prizes!  You can find the TPR Mini Album challenge and a link to the tutorial HERE.
